is the second book in the Immortal Guardians series by Dianne Duvall and was the third book I read this year. I started it last night right before bed (usually a mistake) and was over half way through before I made myself turn the light off. In this series vampires and immortals are both created by a virus, the difference is Immortals come from humans that have a genetic mutation which gives them psychic gifts. I really enjoyed the book and hope there will be a third in the series, however a quick search of the authors website doesn't mention one.If you missed the first book (which I do recommend reading before this one) it is Darkness Dawns (Immortal Guardians)
and a very good read as well.
